He was predeceased by: his siblings, John Clifton Wellons, Jr. and Joy Wellons Wiltshire. He is survived by: his wife Pat Blankenship; his brother Adrian; his friends, Bob Sexton, Paul Raffoul, John Awad and Cliff Rushing; his son Bradley; his daughter-in-law Rachel; his grandson Jackson; and his nieces and nephews, Eve Wellons, Sarah Wellons Laird, Patti Wiltshire Reineke, Bob Wiltshire and John Clifton "Jay" Wellons, III.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pat B. & Dr. Kennard W. Wellons Scholarship Fund at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work for first generation MSW students.
