He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur King and Mary King (Carter); his siblings, Arthur King, Jr. and Laura B. Johnson; his goddaughter Ina Joy King; and his great-nephews, Lee D'Joy Scott, Jeral Wayne Matthews, Jr. and Jeralwyn Bell (Matthews).
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughter Shannon Phillips (Earle) of Fishers, IN; his grandchildren, Chayce E. Phillips and Chandler E. Phillips; his siblings, Betty Matthews of Zachary, Edna Richardson (Alsee) of Fayetteville, NC., Richard King (Patricia) of Jackson, Ray King (Ruby) of Jackson, Charles King (Betty) of Jackson, Robert King (Catherine) of Slaughter and Sidney King (Stephanie) of Zachary; his siblings-in-law, Annie Perry, Beatrice Chenier (Charles), Fannie Phillips (Henry Earl), Debra Grant (Larry), Herman Henderson, Tim Harris (Fannie), Timothy Smith (Karla) and Percy Harris; and his godson Donnell Barber.
