He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorena Matte and Eva Matte (Mott); and his siblings, Joseph Matte, Lillie Matte Crader, Estelle Thibodeaux, Lillian Tryon, Alice Guidry and Viola Wisby.

He is survived by: his children, Racca Matte (Connie), Kevin Matte (Angie), Yolanda Rogers (Kurt) and Carla Matte; and his siblings, Ervin Matte and Elda Richard.
