It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Russell Lee Koonce Sr. (Iowa, Louisiana), who passed away on October 7, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leno Koonce and Hazel Breaux (Hargrove); and his siblings, Paul Koonce, Chris Breaux, David Breaux, Georgeann Fontenot, Lana Koonce and Teresa Mount.

He is survived by: his wife Nettie "Duzzy" LeBleu Koonce; his children, Russell Koonce, Jr. (Shelly), Horace Koonce, Natalie Harger (Shawn), Sandy Ribeiro (Dennis) and Amanda Foret (Dale); and his sisters, Patty Primeaux (Denny), Bonnie Thompson, Gaynell Chaisson (Darrell) and Melissa Breaux. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
