He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Johnson and Bertha Johnson (Marchant); his daughter Patricia; his son-in-law Patrick Bennett; his grandson Jason Bennett; his siblings, John (Helen), Anna (Eddy) and Nadine (Joe); and his siblings-in-law, Juanita Heiland (Jerry), June Anderson, Shirley Hall and James Norris.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Gladys; his sons, Merlin Johnson of Panora and Gailen Johnson of Bagley; and his brother-in-law Darwin Hall. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren.
