He is survived by: his wife Elaine McFarland; his children, Irving McFarland (Shelley), Walter McFarland, Julie Richard (Jacob) and Edward McFarland; his siblings, Lena Simmons and Howard McFarland; his grandchildren, Wyatt McFarland (Kynsley), Mary Richard, Kristen Richard, Jacob Richard, Jordan Richard, Landon Chesson, Gabriella Ward, Andrew Mays, Averie McFarland, London Pickering, Landry Pickering, Katelynn Pellerin and Adam Guillory; and his great grandchildren, Auggy Klinefelter and Parker McFarland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Johnson & Brown Funeral Home (505 US-90, Iowa, LA 70647). A rosary was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist (306 Ann Street, Lacassine, LA 70650).
