He was predeceased by: his father Richard Mosqueda. He is survived by: his mother Antonia Mosqueda; his wife Terry; his children, Carlos (Allison), Antonio, Angelina and Nicole (Kelly); and his siblings, Lawrence (Patricia), Margaret, Linda (Randy), Richard A. (Debra) and Ronald (Tammy). He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was the recipient of the Blues Foundation's "Keeping the Blues Alive" award in 2004 and inducted into the Central Iowa Blues Hall of Fame in 2015.
