He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Thevis, Sr. and Normalie Blanchard Thevis; and his brothers, Gene Thevis and Blaise Thevis. He is survived by: his wife Rosie Pousson Thevis of Iota; his children, Andrea T. Chachere (Tyler) of Eunice, Carlie T. Fontenot (Andy) of Iota and Benjamin Thevis of Iota; his grandchildren, Sadie, Millie Chachere, Reagan and Hayden Fontenot; and his siblings, Lynette T. LaCombe of Iota, Jimmy Thevis of Mowata, Daniel Thevis of Rayne, Steven Thevis of Iota, Kelly Thevis of Maxie and Bruno Thevis of Roberts Cove.
