It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Dewitt Hughes (Independence, Louisiana), who passed away on May 14, 2018, at the age of 52, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Rufus Warren Hughes; his brother-in-law Kelly Joseph Barber; and his grandparents, Dewitt Degenhardt and Elaine Blount Degenhardt. He is survived by: his mother Pearlie Mae Hughes; his siblings, Anita Ballard (Ralph), Robbie Barber and Johnny Hughes (Carla); and his uncle Ralph Degenhardt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brandon Thompson Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
