He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Matherne and Leroy Matherne Sr.; and his sister Lynn Cross. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Matherne; his sons, Jessie Matherne, Justin Matherne, Curtis Matherne (Hannah) and Joe Matherne; his grandchildren, Olivia Matherne, Sofia Matherne and Maddox Matherne; his nephew Timmy Caldwell; his brother-in-law Randy Lashouto; and his mother-in-law Mary Whiddon Lashouto. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
