He is survived by: his wife Camille Phillips Russell; his children, Wanda Russell Breen (Jimmy), Rodney Russell (Margaret) and Larry Wade Russell (Theresa); his stepsons, Brandon Hammons (Tanya) and Hagen Hammons; and his siblings, Dorothy Hulsey Mitic, Mary Jean Coates and Norwood Russell. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
