He was predeceased by: his parents, Sally Ruth Satterfield Black and James "Lee" Black; and his siblings, Delmer Lee Black, Annie Mae Robertson, Thurman Ray Black and Susie Ruth Black.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Guire Black; his children, Curtis Black (Katrina), Matthew Black (Stephanie), Mark Black (Misty), Reneé Crossno and LaVonne Cox (Andy); and his sister Betty Sue Nicks. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ln Hughes Funeral Services (21400 S I - 12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA 70454).
