It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Wells of Independence, Louisiana, born in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, who passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Wells and Valerie Vidal Wells; and his siblings, Shirley Fedoronko Wells, Jimmy and Alvin Wells.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Kojis Wells; his children, Shirley (Charlie Monistere), George Jr., Elizabeth (John Mire), Harvey, Nicole (Brandon Anglin), Melissa (Pete Perkins), Kevin Carrington and Robert Carrington; and his brothers, Rev. Jack Wells (Doris), Rev. Robert Wells (Estelle) and Rev. Ted Wells (Debby). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
