He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ballard and Effie Golmon Ballard; and his siblings, Jack Vernon Ballard (Colleen Finch), Robert Edwin Ballard (Jo Etta Holden), Joyce Florence Ballard, Beverly Iris Ballard (Kenneth Overstreet), Gaston Eugene Ballard and John Ray Ballard (Rachel Ballard).
He is survived by: his wife Geneva Yvonne Ballard of Independence; his children, Marie Smallwood of Tuscumbia, AL, Barbara Navalance, Becky Stearley, Rose Spell, Bambi Carpenter and Edward M. Ballard (Melissa); his stepchildren, Paula Mondebello, Peggy Russo (Chris), Leanne Malone (Tommy) and Phil Mondebello, Jr.; his sisters, Sally Ann Ballard Verdel (Winfrey) and Clara Bo Ballard; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Rutland Ballard.
