It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Smith of Houma, Louisiana, who passed away on September 17, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bennie, Sr. Williams and Rosie Jackson Williams; her siblings, Thomas Williams, Sr. (Rosemary), Leonard Williams, Sr. (Clotheal) and Irma Harris; her grandson Brandon Smith; her uncle Wesley Jackson; and her aunt Hazel Garrison.
She is survived by: her daughter Regina Brumfield (Calvin); her grandsons, Tyran, Waymon and Jaron Smith; her siblings, Bennie Williams, Jr., Rose Trosclair (Fred, Sr.), Hazel Hartman and Martha Johnson (Charles); and her uncle John Williams. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be observed from 11:00 a. m. until 1:00 p. m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.).
