He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Theriot; his parents, Ulysses Pierre Melancon Sr. and Genevieve Esteve; and his siblings, Wilbert and Lois Melancon.
He is survived by: his children, Steve, Matt, Amy, Tom and John. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
