He was predeceased by: his son Jayden Shawn Carter; and his father Jerry Brodnax, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Alana Pellegrin, Bayli Stanley and Brennen Starnes; his mother Ellen Brodnax; his siblings, Tim "Taco" Flurry, Jerry Brodnax, Jr. (Stacey), Martin Brodnax (Cheryl), Matthew Brodnax (Leslie) and Brandy J. McCreary; and his close friend Courtney Marie Childress.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Samart Funeral Home of Houma (635 Bayou Blue Rd, Houma, LA 70364). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
