It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sydney Sheffield (Houma, Louisiana), born in Bourg, Louisiana, who passed away on January 12, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Roy K. Sheffield; her parents, Joseph LeCompte and Emily B LeCompte; her son William "Bill" Sheffield; her siblings, Clifford LeCompte, Bailey LeCompte, Rodolph LeCompte, Estelle Jacobs, Inez Patterson, Athalie Oubre, Anna LeCompte, Emma LeCompte and Florence LeCompte; and her great grandchild Madelyn Knight.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan S. Nusynowitz (Martin) and Jane S. Cunningham (Philip); her daughter-in-law Gwen LeBlanc Sheffield; and her grandchildren, Kelly Cupero (Hamil), Emily Barrow (Patrick), Christina Knight (Thomas), Wendy Rome, Roy K. Sheffield (Angel), Nicole Foret (Dennis) and Sally Fortenberry (Charles). She is also survived by eight great grandsons and nine great grand-daughters; and two great-great grand-daughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
