He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian Guidry Matherne; his parents, Christophe Matherne and Clemelia Pontiff Matherne; and his siblings, Claude P. Matherne (Irene), Edward Matherne (Marie), Hazel Theriot and Verna Riley (Roy).
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, JoAnn T. Bourgeois (Rudie), Paula M. Voisin (Chris), Sandy Marie (Jody), Kristy Ledford (Richard), Wendy VanDalen (Robert), Leah Voisin, William Voisin (Phyllis) and Jay Voisin (Christy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
