In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Silas leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Silas may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Baskett, Sr. and Virginia Nunn Baskett; and his siblings, Tom Basket, Jr., Virginia Muth, Betsy Embry and Hugh Baskett.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Pursley Baskett; and his children, Lyn Fort (Ken), Brenda Owen (Dean), Dale Baskett and John Baskett. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chauvin Funeral Home (5899 LA-311, Houma, LA 70360). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Beal Parkway Cemetery.
