He was predeceased by: his son Richard Thomas Jr.; his father John (Thomas); and his brother Barry Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Verna Daigle Thomas; his children, Denise Dufrene (Brent) and Robert Thomas (Christie); his grandsons, Blake Dufrene and Jackson Thomas; his mother Margaret Thomas; and his sister Janine "Neenie" Boudreaux (Donald). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law.
