He is survived by: his father Samuel Nelson Sr.; his wife Brenda Ann "Tulsa" Williams; his children, Mitchell Nelson, Jr. (Rachelle), Lakisha Nelson (Kee) and Angelique Nelson (Ann); his siblings, Gilbert Nelson (Roslind), Sheena S. Nelson, Geraldine Celestin (Carl) and Eliza M. Nelson; his grandchildren, Charelle Nelson, Mitchell Nelson III, Mark Dirance, Danshelle Little, Kentrell Dirance, Ronnell Johnson, Jr., Brittany Johnson, Rone'Jah Dirance, Collin Nelson, Kayden Nelson, Javon Nelson, Sky Nelson, Sasha Patterson and Breyana Patterson; his mother Elouise Livas Nelson; his grandparents, Joseph Nelson Sr., Elizabeth Goudy Nelson, Mamie Smith and Albert Livas; and his siblings, Samuel Nelson, Jr., Donald Nelson and Mildred F. Broomfield (Brenda Ann Williams). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones Funeral Home (230 S Hollywood Rd, Houma, LA 70360). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
