He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Verrett; his children, Echo Dion (Berkling), Toni Short (Christopher), Jonathan Dion, Michael Dion Jr. (Michelle) and Michelle Duplantis (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Nehemiah, Jeremiah Hills, Cymphoni, Cuavé, Csolry Short, Meagan Duplantis, Talon and Demi Dion; and his siblings, Lois Salinas, Adrial Boals, Ethel Haynes (Mark), Cherrel D. Parfait (Paul), Chawdhry Billiot, Caldrait Breaux Maryal Dion (Donald), Fern Gautreaux (Lynn), Howard Dion, Nile Dion (Sarah), Clyde Dion (Carolyn) and Fabian Dion (Theresa). He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces, and nephews.
