Mercedes Chatagnier Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mercedes Chatagnier (Houma, Louisiana), who passed away on April 18, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Floyd Chatagnier, Sr.; her daughter Bridgette Gros; her parents, Armojean Prejean and Andrea C. Prejean; and her siblings, Joe, Percy, Octave, Ewell Prejean, Maria Elena "Bea" Daigle and Theresa Cortez.

She is survived by: her children, Cynthia (Robbie Owens) of Schriever, Susan (Jerome Duplechin) of Schriever, Robert "Bobby" (Lisa Richard) of Sugarland, TX and Carl (Patricia "Pat" Richard) of New Iberia; her son-in-law Bryan (Crystal Gros) of Schriever; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Bluebaugh, Phillip Richard, Joshua Duplechin, Jamie Owens, Patricia Richard, Dodi Langlois, Dana Canaday, Sarah Hebert, Lynette Duplechin, Ashley Richard, Tyler Garibotte, Jacob Gros, Hallie Gros and Avery Gros. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

There will be an invitation-only family service not to exceed 10 people at a viewing, memorial/religious service or graveside service due to the restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
