It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Williams of Houma, Louisiana, who passed away on October 11, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Gwendolyn Sanders Williams; his mother Alfreda Williams; his brother Wayne Michael Williams; his grandparents, George and Ruth Thomas; his great-grandparent Emma Dickerson; and his aunt Mary Coleman.

He is survived by: his son Melvin Johnson; his grandson JaJuan Poindexter; and his brothers, Arnold Thomas, Sr. (Diana) and Gregory Williams. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a. m. until funeral time at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA 70360 (Per CDC regulations/local requirements all visitors must wear face masks in building at all times).
