She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Ortego, Sr.; and her parents, Savio Fontenot and Amalie Catorie Fontenot. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Jr. (Janice Ortego), Steve (Helen Ortego), Stephanie (Wayne Fulin) and Tim Ortego of Houma. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
Mavis Fontenot Ortego, 89, a native of Ville Platte and resident of Houma, died on October 23, 2020, after an eleven-year battle with Alzheimer's.
