He was predeceased by: his daughter Carolyn Harris; his parents, Virginia Robinson and Alex Walker; his siblings, Albert Walker and Mary Livas; his grandparents, Gus, Ella Stovall Walker, Jonah Smith and Florence Johnson; his aunts, Annie Williams, Isabella Walker and Betty Lee Johnson; and his brother-in-law Hollis Bass.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Johnson Walker; his children, Jontez Walker, Bernard Johnson and Mary Johnson (Ronald); his son-in-law Davis Harris; his godchildren, Virginia A. Martin, Gloria Smith, Mary Boykins, Annette Nixon and Kwamequa Ezell; and his friend Eddie Wallis. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
