He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Hebert Champagne; his father Louby Peter Champagne; his stepfather Walterine Marie Blanchard Babin (Yancy); his son Troy A. Champagne; his sister Birdie Champagne Boudwin (Percy Sr.); and his grandson Joel T. Cook, III.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicky Champagne Chaisson (James) and Carrie Champagne Cook (Joel Jr.); his godchild Gail Boudwin; his grandchildren, James Chaisson, Jr. (Betsy), Chantel Cook Harvey (Kevin), Jeremy Chaisson (Breia) and Brett Cook (Andrew Hamilton); and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Devin, Meredyth, Parker, Kobe and Cher.
