It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kevin Johnson of Houma, Louisiana, who passed away on October 16, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Amy Johnson Woolens and Elijah Lawson, Sr.; his grandparents, James Johnson and Sara Sims; and his siblings, Elijah, Jr., Zilton, Sr., Clarence Lawson, Betty Mae McGuire, Petronella Shelvin and Olivia Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Leslie Scott Johnson; his children, Nykee N. Johnson, Sr. (LaWanda), Kevin G. Johnson and Kalin L. Johnson; his mother-in-law Willie Mae Delores Lewis; his siblings, Sherman (Bertha), Robert Lee, Isiah Lawson, Sr., Thomas Joseph, Peggy Lyons, Gwendolyn Smith, Debra Curney (Walter), Victoria Richardson (Larry), Monique Williams and Regina Lewis; his sister-in-law Andrea W. Lawson; and his aunt Alice Johnson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great grandchild.
A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a. m. until funeral time at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360 (Per CDC regulations/local requirements all visitors must wear face masks at all times in building).
