With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joyce Ann Williams of Houma, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her cousin Ruby Nell Stovall; her husband Benjamín J. Williams; her parents, Wesley Nixon III and Sadie Pearl Carvin Nixon; her grandparents, Wesley Nixon Sr., Elizabeth Sims Nixon, Warren Carvin and Stewart; her siblings, Herman Carvin Nixon, Wesley Nixon IV, Rosalee Simon Williams, Jerry Lee Price and Missionary Ellen Jones; her grandchildren, Derek Henry Jr. and Baby Mia Williams; and her goddaughter Sheila K. Smith.
She is survived by: her friend Beverly Fusilier; her children, Benjamin Williams Jr. (Loring DeShotel) of Lafayette, LA, Monica Williams-Folse and Joseph Williams of Houma, LA; her grandchildren, Schwann, Paris, Brittiany, Nakeshia, Terrell, Divante', Amiyah, Aliyah, Brent, Gracelynn, Caleb, Jovante, Jaiden and Savannah; her siblings, Christopher A. Nixon and Alice G. Nixon of Shreveport, LA; her aunt Mary B. Nixon; her goddaughter Penny N. Stewart; and her close friend Robert James Sr.. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.
Joyce enjoyed attending the Senior Center at Mechanicville Gym, she even would crochet and donate Afghan blankets, as gifts for monthly drawings, Joyce enjoyed fishing, camping, playing Bingo, spades, dominoes, going on cruises, traveling and zip lining among other things to say the least.
