He is survived by: his wife Mary Punch Callahan; his children, Cheryl Parfait (Kelly), Janell Luke (Lou), Kim Guidroz (Kent), Joseph Callahan, Jr. (Kacey) and Kelly Callahan (Dawn); his grandchildren, Tiffany, Trent, Trey, Gavin, Jayda, Kadon "Tuna", Kora, Kain, Austin, Sage, Carter, Leia and Mariah; and his siblings, Gary Callahan, Sterling Callahan and Geraldine Liner. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
