It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Evaline Brownlee of Houma, Louisiana, born in Adams County, Ohio, who passed away on October 14, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Russell Brownlee; her sons, James A. Brownlee, Stanley E. Brownlee and John C. Brownlee; her grandson Shaun Secott; her parents, Orval Newkirk and Anna Wright Newkirk; and her siblings, Howard Newkirk, George Newkirk, Wilbur Newkirk, John Newkirk, Gemimia Harris, Hazel Newkirk, Patricia Cox, Dorothy Boiman, Shirley Newkirk and Gladys Coriell.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Stewart, Jennifer Rostorfer, Dr. Janice Naquin and Curtis Brownlee; and her siblings, Wayne Newkirk, Robert Newkirk and Ruth Funderburk. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
