He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jeraldine "Jerry" Guidry Sothern; his parents, James O'Brien and Violet Sothern; his children, James "Sud" Robley and Rebecca Sothern McElroy; his grandson Robert; his sister Kay Peschel; his pet Sumo; his daughters, Rachael Barrios (Robert), Melinda Sothern (Dave Hebert), Wilma Sothern (Scott Almandarez) and Julie Sothern; his grandchildren, Nikki Maronge, April McElroy Jones of Samantha Pearce, T. J, McElroy, Tyler Sothern, Allyson Nobles, Billy Theriot, Louis and Elliot DeCrauzat; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Meghan, Morgan Maronge, Teila, Layla Jones, Kingsley Bremermann and Ava Renee Boudwin; and his siblings, Thomas Sothern and Virginia Honish.
