He was predeceased by: his son Jeffrey Dishman; his grandson Nicklaus Bolner; his parents, John Dishman, Sr. and Annie Laura Fabregas Dishman; his parents-in-law, Decatur Verret and Lucille Vice Verret; and his siblings, Elsie D. Falgout, Annie Laura D. Boudreaux, John "Sonny" Dishman, Jr., David Dishman and Leon Dishman.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Verret Dishman; his children, Jamie Trevathan (Jesse), Martin "Marty" Dishman (Jayne), Richard "Ricky" Dishman, Dr. Natalie Dishman (Barry Bolner) and William "Billy" Dishman (Jaime); and his siblings, Robert Dishman, Jerry Dishman, Mary Gilles, Margaret Lapeyrouse, Susan Dishman and Elaine Dishman. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has regretfully suspended plans for a memorial service at this time.
