He was predeceased by: his daughter Elizabeth Maxine Sessum; his parents, Thomas Carpenter and Eunice Carpenter; and his brother Grady Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Mattie O. Carpenter; his son Barron Carpenter (Sue); his grandchildren, James Carpenter (Desiree), Bryce Carpenter (Skylar) and Brandy Lee Liner; and his brothers, David and Thomas Carpenter. He is also survived by 4 great granddaughters.
