He was predeceased by: his parents, Ance Butler and Annie Emmons Butler; and his siblings, Sammy Butler, U. B. Butler, J. B. Butler, Mildred Butler Nickens and Virginia Butler Wallace.
He is survived by: his wife Gertrude Belanger Butler; his children, Steven Butler, Jacquelyn Butler Leese (Paul), Chris Butler (Cathy) and Kenneth Butler (Greg Mangum); his sister Gloria Butler LeBouef; his grandchildren, Nicole St. Pierre Dover (Andy), Allison Leese Bergeron (Brett) and Callie Baskett; and his great grandchildren, Eleanor Whitney Bergeron, Evelyn Marie Baskett and Silas John Baskett.
