He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jo McGee; his parents, Hollis Byrd and Myrtle Louise Stuart McGee; his siblings, Hollis "Clayton" McGee (Mabel), Kenneth Byrd McGee, Sr. (Sarah) and Peggy M. Barnett; and his grandson Thomas Jeffrey "TJ" McGee, Jr. (Homer).
He is survived by: his children, Homer Marcell McGee, Jr. (Debby), Minette Denise McGee Thornton (Doug), Melinda McGee Poiencot (Sammy) and Thomas Jeffrey McGee; and his grandchildren, Jared Boudreaux, Lynette McGee McLeod, Keith McGee, John Poiencot, Jenna Poiencot Parra and Kaylie McGee. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
