He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert "Buddy" Champagne and Claire Rose Voisin Champagne; his sister Aleta Champagne; his granddaughter Catherine Mary Denton; his great-nephews, Christopher, Peter and Gabriel Grant; and his close friends, Travis Bourg, Paul English, Bobby Triche, Barry, Randy Theriot, Arthur Boudreaux, Jerry Labat and Joaquin Bennet.
He is survived by: his daughter Amy Champagne Denton (Tim); his siblings, Taryn Mader (Randy), Katrina Champagne and Leslie Griffin (Jimmy); his grandsons, Isaac Denton and Todd Denton; his close friends, Michael Maronge and Judy English; and his son Greg (Greg).
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations to be considered to St. Eloi Church or The Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter.
