She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin P. Collins; her parents, Harris Cheramie and Cornelia Galliano Cheramie; her stepchildren, Alvin Collins Jr. and Thelma Marie Smolinski; and her brother Harris "Murphy" Cheramie Jr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Ayo (Mike), Nena Matherne (Eric) and Brenda Moran (George); her sister Betty Langley; her grandchildren, Jennifer Ayo, Christopher Ayo (Wayne), Dawn Meyer (Brett), Ryan Matherne Charles Collins Jr. (Susan), Monica Allemands (Jose), Olivia Fitzwater, Bridgette Kossor, Justin Smolinski, Tonia Smolinski, Adam Smolinski and Nate Smolinski (Janelle); and her great grandchildren, Matthew Olivier, Drew Meyer and Beau Meyer.
