He is survived by: his son Gable Joseph Melancon II (Tabitha); his grandsons, Jace Melancon and Sean Melancon; his siblings, Toni Landwehr (Kenneth), John Melancon (Gail), Larry Melancon (Betty), Allen Melancon (Bonnie) and Gregory Melancon (Beth); and his close friend Shirleen Killion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
