He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hawkins Sr. and Gladys Picou Joseph; and his grandparents, Jimmy, Avelia Calloway Hawkins, Thomas, Sr. and Flossie Watson Picou.

He is survived by: his wife Arnetta Thompson Hawkins; his daughters, Tifeney H. Devance, Tori H. Williams and Whitney H. Batiste (Armond); his stepchildren, Taniecia Smith, Terrance Bolden (Heidi) and Layman Bolden Jr. (Shawanda); and his siblings, Jerry Hawkins (Carolyn), Rosemary Thompson, Betty Knightshed and Barbara Bailey (Clarence). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
