She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest "Gene" Hanes; her parents, Willis Albert Smith and Minnie Margaret Hartman-Smith; her siblings, Harold Smith, Harry Englehart, William "Bill" Smith (Carol), Paul Smith (Lora), Raymond Smith (Lou), Dolly Englehart Roberts and Bertie Smith Marple (Ray); and her son-in-law Michael Gerard Prejeant.
She is survived by: her children, Tauny Prejeant, Jeannie Chretien and William Ernest Hanes, Jr.; her grandchildren, Sindra Hanes-Voisin (Terry), Chad Michael Prejeant (Gia), Lauren Prejeant, Dr. Garret Nicholas Chretien (Alicia), Kristen Marcel and Heaven Hanes; her great grandchild Beau Michael Prejeant; and her siblings, Cindy Smith Wylie (Glen) and Glen Smith (Helga).
