He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Jones Jr. and Deloris Legarde Jones; his siblings, Clarence Jones Jr., Donald Jones, Willie Mae Jones-St, Audrey J. Ross and Shirley J. Matthews; and his grandson Kenny Franklin.

He is survived by: his wife Laura Jones; his children, Ervin Jones Jr. (Ann), Efrem, Douglas, Tyskie Ross (Joan), Barbara Jones and Beverly Myles (Robert); and his sisters, Annette McGuire and Margaret J. Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
