With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward L. McCarty of Houma, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 4, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, S. H. McCarty and Frances McCarty; his brothers, Howard and Philip McCarty; and his son-in-law Gary Gresham.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Troutman McCarty; his children, Jo Ellen Gresham Guidry (Duane), Edward McCarty Jr., Stacie Babin (Todd) and Sandra Bergeron (Rory); and his grandchildren, Michael, Rachael, Jennifer, Chad, Kate, Andrew, Halle and Rory John. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Houma (6109 LA-311, Houma, LA 70360). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

I first knew Ed when my parents, Rev. Jerome and Mrs. Elsie Cain, served there. Then Rev. Dr. Alan Dee Einsel & Rev.
