He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Alcide and Julia Marie Andres Breaux; his sister Mary Ann Breaux; his grandson Peyton Joseph Breaux; and his brother-in-law Roland Ledet.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Olivia Garner Breaux; his children, Leslie Anne Breaux and Donald Joseph Breaux III (Alanna Smith Breaux); his sister Carolyn B. Ledet; and his grandchildren, Amanda Kathryn Marie Breaux, Kira Angelique Breaux and Makayla Jane Breaux.
