She was predeceased by: her parents, Alva Mayeaux and Nanzia Roberts Mayeaux. She is survived by: her husband John "Buzz" Brooks; her children, Derrell Brooks (Penny) and Terrell Brooks (Melissa); her grandchildren, Lauren Brooks Cherry (Benjamin), Taylor Brooks and Benton Brooks; her great grandchild Beau Cherry; her brother Michael Mayeaux; and her aunt Mary Grezaffi.
