She is survived by: her children, Jessie Lightell (Mahalia), Phillip Melendez, Raymond Melendez, Jr., Betty Juenigain, Sandra Melendez, Elizabeth Melendez and Keisha Barker; her husband Raymond J. Melendez; her sons, Ernest Lightell and Benjamin Melendez; and her siblings, Larry Johnson, Morris Johnson and Marguerite Green. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
