She was predeceased by: her husband James Simmons; her parents, Rev. Joseph H. and Louise Lopez Thompson; her brother Coril W. Thompson; and her grandparents, Forrest, Juliane Prevost Thompson, Fred and Laura Thomas Lopez.
She is survived by: her sons, Leroy B. Simmons (Arleen "Buffy") and James H. Simmons (Lejuana). She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
