It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Porter Jr. of Houma, Louisiana, who passed away on August 4, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Porter and Ora Davis Porter; and his sisters, Victoria Porter, Olivia Porter Celestine and Orelia Porter.
He is survived by: his children, Damium Germaine Porter of Houma, Jada Rochelle Porter of St. John's, Tyrikia Nicholle Porter (Travis Ruffin) of Meridian, MS, LaShekia Danielle Porter of Houma and Abagail Rose Porter of Thibodaux; his siblings, Herman Porter of Houma, Jessie Mae Porter of Houma, Yvonne Thomas of Houma and Mary Louise Porter of Houma; his grandchildren, Jarius A. McClendon (Jasmine), Ada K. E. Handy, Cameron C. Oliphant, Erica A. Smith, Malai J. Porche, Jayden D. Porche, Hezekiah Porter and Malayjia Porter; his great grandchildren, Aubrie D. McClendon and Adaya N. Handy; his nephew Kevin Stewart (Aneatra); and his niece Ora Mae Wilson. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
