He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry, Sr. and Marguerite Spence; his sons, Harry Clark Spence and David Simpson Spence; his stepson David Zubatuk; his siblings, Harry B. Spence, Jr., William G. Spence, Mary Agnes Maily, Annette Brown and Margaret Moran; and also Gloria Jolly Spence.
He is survived by: his wife Garnett Griffin Spence; his children, Charles Carey Spence, Jr (Cindy), Mark Edward Spence, Wife Monee, Philip Allen Spence, Elizabeth Spence Watkins (Bill Watkins), Sharon Spence Boudreaux (David Boudreaux) and Mary Spence; his stepchildren, Sharon Miller (Joe), Lynn Rogers and Kathy Zubatuk; his grandchildren, Ashli Spence Bernard, Erin Watkins Klingman, Sarah Watkins Triplett, Katherine Watkins Champagne, Leah Watkins Orgeron, Kristen Spence, Matthew Spence, Wendy Faucheaux Dolan, Lauren Faucheaux Whatley, Morgan Spence, Lindsey Spence, Harry Orgeron, Blair Orgeron, Allison Spence King and Jeffrey Spence; his sister Janie Lang (Bud); and his pet Sassy. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.
